Maintenance Technician

Position: Maintenance Technician
Department: Maintenance
Reports to: Scale/Maintenance Manager
Work Week: Mon-Fri 7am-5pm; every other Saturday 7am-noon

Overview:
Engages in installing, troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining physical structures of buildings, grounds, machinery and mechanical and electrical equipment

Responsibilities:

• Performs preventative maintenance for equipment, machinery, tools, buildings, or furnishings of buildings.
• Inspects completed work for conformance to blueprints, specifications, and standards.
• Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
• Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
• Repairs or replaces defective parts.
• Repairs electrical equipment.
• Utilizes lockout/tag out procedures.
• Maintains time and production records.

Qualifications:
Prior maintenance experience, strong mechanical and technical skills, good communication, problem solving skills and a valid driver’s license.
